TITLE: Angiograhic/CT Technologist

JOB SUMMARY |
Works under the leadership of the Radiology Manager to provide imaging services to patients of all ages in Angiography and/or CT. Responsible for filming of procedures, injection of contrast, patient and employee safety, documentation, medical records, inventory management and scheduling. |

JOB DUTIES |
|
1. Diagnostic / Interventional |
Performs high quality exams on patients of all ages. Assures that professional care is provided. |
2. Drug Use |
Administers contrast agents to patients of all ages, following department protocol. Monitors patients for adverse contrast reactions |
3. Safety |
Demonstrates knowledge of safety in the work place to prevent accidents and injuries. Practices Radiation Safety and upholds the ALARA values. |
4. Information Management |
Performs appropriate Imaging Services functions in an accurate and timely manner |
5. Documentation & Medical Record Management |
Maintains appropriate documentation for regulatory agencies and medical record. |
6. Equipment Quality Control |
Performs quality control checks on related equipment, assures that appropriate documentation is maintained and that, when necessary, appropriate service/repairs/ preventive maintenance occurs on equipment. |
7. Other Duties |
Performs related duties, assists others as needed and performs special assignments as necessary for the smooth operation of the department. |
JOB SPECIFICATION |

1. Education |
Registered Technologist. In the field of Radiology. |
2. Licensure |
None. Must meet with the continuing education requirements. |
3. Experience |
|
4. Essential Technical / Motor Skills |
Sight and hand/eye coordination required working with various computers, injecting patients and handling of equipment. Standing for extended periods, walking, stair climbing, and ability to hear and interpret information. |
5. Interpersonal Skills |
Good communication skills. Ability to interact with individuals for staff cooperation and patient/family communication. Able to care/communicate with patients of all ages. Compassionate friendly, and patient when dealing with patient and others. |
6. Essential Physical Requirements |
Lifting, helping patients off/on stretcher, escorting and supporting patients, stooping and bending while using appropriate body mechanics. |
7. Essential Mental Skills |
Mental concentration, mathematical comprehension, innovative problem solving abilities. |
8. Essential Sensory Requirements |
Good vision, good hearing and sense of touch. High level of short-term memory |
9. Exposure to Hazardous Substances |
Patient care environment, infectious diseases and body fluids, processor chemicals, ionizing radiation. |
10. Work Hours |
Rotate day shift and occasional afternoon shift hours. Scheduled on call weeknights and weekends. |

Proficient with all age groups within defined patient population |
