JOB SUMMARY |
Works under the leadership of the Radiology Manager to provide reception, registration and scheduling services to patients of all ages. Responsible for performing the following work processes: reception of patients, pre-registration, registration, scheduling, medical record, order entry, and application of the hospital information systems functions. |

JOB DUTIES |

1. Registration |
Receives/registers patients in a timely and efficient fashion. |
2. Registration/ Scheduling |
Accurately performs the registration and scheduling process while interacting in a professional manner with patients. |
3. Clerical information/Distribution |
Distributes documentation to the appropriate area in a timely manner. |
4. Patient Education |
Utilizes effective communication and decision making skills to anticipate patients` expectations and educational needs. |
5. Medical Record Management |
Prepares radiological charts to maintain Radiology's medical record in accurate and complete form. |
6. Other Duties |
Performs related duties, assists others as needed and performs special assignments as necessary for the smooth operation of both departments. |
JOB SPECIFICATION |

1. Education |
High School Diploma. Medical Terminology Education preferred. |
2. Licensure |
None. |
3. Experience |
Technical/motor. |
4. Essential Technical / Motor Skills |
Sight and hand/eye coordination required working with various computers and handling of equipment. Standing/sitting for extended periods, walking, stair climbing, and ability to hear and interpret information. |
5. Interpersonal Skills |
Good communication skills. Ability to interact with individuals for staff cooperation and patient/family communication. Able to care/communicate with patients of all ages. |
6. Essential Physical Requirements |
Lifting, escorting and supporting patients, stooping and bending while using appropriate body mechanics. |
7. Essential Mental Skills |
Mental concentration, mathematical comprehension, innovative problem solving abilities. |
8. Essential Sensory Requirements |
Good vision, good hearing and sense of touch. |
9. Exposure to Hazardous Substances |
Patients care environment, infectious diseases and body fluids. |
10. Work Hours |
Rotate day shift, afternoon shift and weekends. Hours may vary dependent on patient volumes and department needs. |

Proficient with all age groups within defined patient population |

Regular job attendance is required. |
