 JOB SUMMARY

The manager of Imaging Services is responsible for assuring the delivery of service quality; establishing and carrying out action plans that include measurements, and strategies. The manager assures delivery of efficient and cost effective services by professional, competent staff who utilize well maintained, functional radiological equipment in a safe environment that is customer-focused.

 JOB DUTIES

1. Operations or Program planning

Establishes goals and tactics pertinent to his/her area of responsibility in support of the system strategic plan.

2. Process Management

Works collaboratively with staff to identify internal and external patients and their expectations, Initiates process changes to increase quality, decrease costs and improve staff satisfaction. Holds staff accountable to insure that the patient's expectations are met.

3. Financial Management

Manages financial resources to obtain maximum organization performance. Sets fiscal targets to improve upon prior year's financial performance.

4. Human Resources and Employee Relation

Develops a staffing plan to insure that patient care needs and operating standards are met. Appropriately manages skill levels and mix to accomplish daily work requirements. Insures that staffs are oriented to the organization and the department/unit.

5. Continuous Quality Improvement

Continually improves the performance of work process. Establishes and monitors measures to improve outcomes and increase patient satisfaction. Insures the regulatory and licensing requirements are met. Uses information to demonstrate results.

6. Leadership / Communications

Effectively provides information to staff and solicits information from staff regarding organization/unit performance.

7. Community Relation

Develops and maintains effective working relationships with community groups and representatives to promote corporate identity and support.

8. Medical Staff Relations

Establishes and foster positive physician relations to achieve the organization's goals.

 

 JOB SPECIFICATION

1. Education

Bachelor's or Graduate level degree in management or health related field.

Registered Technologist. In the field of Radiology.

2. Licensure

None required.

3. Experience

Previous and proven track record in management of radiology services. Three to five years experience as a technologist.

4. Essential Technical / Motor Skills

Adept at operating multiple pieces of radiological equipment. Able to utilize computers in the work environment. Good hand/eye coordination. Fine motor skills.

5. Interpersonal Skills

Able to interact with multiple levels of personnel within the organization, communicates well among and between all groups. Possesses negotiating and mentoring skills. Can be assertive without being aggressive. Able to build a team as well as participating as a team player. Communication effectively verbally and in written format.

6. Essential Physical Requirements

Able to work for extended periods. Able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds move equipment, and patients. Tolerates being on feet for extended periods. Uses appropriate body mechanics.

7. Essential Mental Skills

Able to think conceptually and deal with the abstract. Clear, rational thinker. Able to do computation. Able to interpret, synthesize, prioritize, and make immediate and well thought out judgements using short and long term memory related to management and patient care.

8. Essential Sensory Requirements

Able to hear verbal messages, read written communications, and articulate clearly. Able to smell potential contaminants. Able to feel pain, temperature variant stimuli. see, speak, feel, and smell.

9. Exposure to Hazardous Substances

Works in-patient care environment and could be exposed to infectious diseases, body fluids, needle puncture wounds. Potential occasional exposure to chemotherapy, radiation, and certain unpleasant patient care activities.

10. Work Hours

Salaried role requiring hours worked to accomplish stated accountabilities.

Proficient with all age groups within defined patient population
