Performance characteristics of PCD system in Axial filter and Open frame acquisition mode

ABSTRACT

This study characterizes the performance of Axial filter and Open frame acquistion mode in PCD system (Prism-200XP, Picker, USA). Intrinsic spatial resolution, scatter fraction, senistivity, and image quality is evaluated. Spatial resolution in (FWHM) is 5.7mm at the center for both Axial filter and Open frame. Scatter fraction is 19% for Axial filter and 27% for the Open frame. Sensitivity measurements of total events (in cps/ Bq/ ml) for Axial filter and Open frame ar 1.0 and 4.2, respectively. Conclusion: Open frame acquisition mode could be clinically applicable in low administrative doses or in reducing the scanning time.
